Little brother of TOD 26.1 from the same brand, the TDP 20.1 is a 20 liter backpack with a lot of style and thorough attention to detail for tacticool enthusiasts.
If you re in the market for a good tactical backpack, I recommend checking out Amazon, right here.
So, in this article, we talk about all that:
Features of the TDP 20.1 Tactical Bag
Just like the other models in the range, the TDP 20.1 is offered in Black and A-TACS LE. And that sucks! It is made of Polyester tech 700 dn fabric and that… it doesn’t tear!
Before…
Its front face is covered with a pad Laser cut MOLLE and a female velcro insert to receive patches.
It has a main compartment with zip closure with a good capacity in which there is a sleeve for a 15″ computer (maxi) or a water pocket (with a loop for the pipe provided on the top).
Two straps and elastic velcro secure this part.
The opening is wide enough to be able to slip your head in (to illustrate the expression “damn this morning, my head is in the bag”) or put a small animal in it (big cat, baby hyena… ). Seriously, you’ll have room to put on your vest, your snack or your bike helmet.
The front part accommodates a through pocket closed by zips on both sides. It’s quite practical to slip a jacket in for example.
The MOLLE laser cut (7 lines of 4 openings) is lined with a crossed shock cord with a rather badass skull and crossbones loops and a grenade-shaped sliding stop. Enough to reinforce the tactical look with a lot of style and character.
The bottom of the bag and the inner sleeve is lined with foam to protect the contents. The front pocket is lined with a soft fabric.
Each zip is equipped with a cord loop, practical for handling with gloves.
On each side, a small mesh pocket allows you to slip a bottle can of kool kola, a gaoubeer, a Nalgene or a pair of gloves.
On the top, a handle allows you to carry the bag by hand and 2 D-Rings are available to hang your keys for example, or whatever you want, with a carabiner.
And the back?
The back is lined with a thick and comfortable foam enclosed in a mesh net. The carry is very comfortable even with a heavy load, which is quite rare for this type of bag.
The straps are flexible and also lined, they are wide and fitted with fabric, elastic and D-ring fastening straps. Very convenient to pass your hand, your big toe or your bladder hose.
The carrying system has a compression strap at the chest; adjustable in height (and in the length of course).
The last point, the shoulder straps are equipped with the Fastex system for quick release in case of emergency. A real urban tactical bag!
And it does not stop there! A final pocket is discreetly positioned under the back foam. You can slip in a file, a tax return or a dozen pancakes.
Use
So it’s a small urban bag, but it can also be used when outings or in sports.
I have used it several times on the bike. As mentioned just before, its carrying system is well thought out and optimized for physical activities.
It is designed for short outings and can easily accommodate your EDC your food for the day and 2 litres of water.
First impressions
We are not talking here about printers, but about feelings…
It’s not yet a definitive opinion that I offer here, but after only a few weeks, the first feedback is already very positive.
The TDP 20.1 tactical backpack is of the same quality as its big brother the TOD 26.1. On that side, I’m not worried.
It is simpler in terms of the composition of the pockets. But it’s also a smaller bag, for every day…
In terms of design, it is downright successful… It uses the right recipes, a Dragon Egg profile from DA the Laser cut MOLLE which saves weight and style.
The Portage level, it’s great too! The adjustments last over time and the straps are comfortable.
It’s my bag for cycling, nothing to say for the moment.
The only doubt I can have today is about the maintenance of the elastics of the side mesh pockets. It is often on this type of equipment that fatigue is felt first…

Feedback on the TDP 20.1 after 4 months
The TDP 20.1 tactical backpack has not left me since I got it. Here is now my opinion more than 4 months after the first impressions.
Well, frankly, I confirm: it is great!
It serves me every day, and it hasn’t budged a bit. No abnormal wear. No wear at all.
Good news, I didn’t get picked up for not respecting the low profile or for wearing a tacticool backpack with a fucking badass camo (A-TACS LE). I could still hear one or two “ah! it is your bag! »
I especially appreciated the net system on the front side to put my knitting on… I’m also very happy with the quick and generous access (like me) to the two main pockets…
In terms of size, it is perfectly fine to act as a daypack. Nickel for a water mint flask and a snack, to put his little computer and a file.
I used it for a short weekend with a night on the sofa. I had no trouble taking a change and my toothbrush.
Really, I’m not disappointed to have the TDP 20.1 available. So, if you are interested, you can throw your eyes closed on this bag.
