You may know the Condor Outdoor brand.
Well here is the Sidekick Pouch!
I had the pleasure of testing this cover. And that’s good because I was looking for a suitable model to mount it on my MOLLE panel, at the back of my driver’s seat.
The idea was to put in addition to the EDV and large first aid kit, a small kit quickly accessible for children
You can find several great pouches on Amazon, right here.
Overview…
It is found under the reference MA64-003 in the Tan version.
It is the size of a French-English dictionary, for the 3e on a class trip to Portsmouth and weighs a little more than a 250g bar of butter.
It is equipped with a very soft Molle velcro panel for patches (12.5cm x 7.5cm) and a series of 5 MOLLE strips on the back.
Snap-on semi-rigid MOLLES attachments are independent and can be removed. But then, well… you have a soft pouch that you can no longer attach to another MOLLE thing. That’s a lot of MOLLE in a single paragraph. Ha… I forgot, there are 3 MOLLE loops on each side.
On the front (yeah), you’ll find a zipper that gives you access to a compartment large enough to place an Israeli bandage or a survival blanket (or a tin of sardines).
AND. BAH. NOPE.
Because, my little grandpa, when you open the second zipper then you will understand that there is a subtlety. Hehe, I’m so excited!
You open the second zipper, all the way down and there you have an adjustable Paracord 550 type cord that holds the panel.
So it’s cool because imagine… You have your bag on the ground, or like me your Sidekick mounted on the backrest of your SUV. You open the cover… There you go! the panel becomes a small tablet to prepare your dressing, to put your various utensils or products and you have your hands free!
When you have opened everything you have access to the contents, different pockets, elastic inserts etc.
Everything to prepare your IFAK or your EDC spouse.
Why is it good?
- Dimensions: H 17.5 x W 13.5 x D 3.5
- Color: OD/Black/Tan
- Materials: Kind of strong Cordura
Well… you noticed how I got a little carried away on the panel that turns into a tablet, but frankly, that’s the real advantage of this Sidekick.
Besides the fact that Condor makes solid and durable gear while remaining accessible of course…
The idea of being able to adjust the travel of the panel with the paracord and the stopper is very cool too… that way you really adapt it to your needs.
Open at 30°, 90 or 180°… In short, as you wish!
You saw in the photo, that the folder is tilted and I adjusted it so that it opens straight! crazy!
And what do we put in it?
Well… the most complicated here is to know how to select, to make choices.
And to make choices is to die a little.
The idea is to really have the minimum kit for the little boo kids. But you know that… if you got enough to fill it then you’ll fill it
Even your pressure bandage, you’re going to put it on, whereas *putting the first name of the kid* still has little chance of getting shot on the road to vacation And then, if you don’t put it on, you’re sure you’ll need it…
More seriously…
We are going to find :
- saline, because kids are used to getting bubble wrap in their eyes.
- a Batman Band-Aid because they also have a habit of screwing up their knees and ripping their last pants without a hole.
- 2 or 3 meds for the head and stomach.
- disinfectant wipes that don’t sting.
- don’t forget the scissors.
- you can also put (I do) a small retractable scalpel and tweezers for splinters.
- And then also Steri Strip, because it’s always useful… especially if you miss your splinter extraction…

In conclusion?
It’s not to pretend because really, it works well.
I admit that lately, I haven’t driven too much with my new truck and my new pouch, but I’ve already crushed it quite a bit in all directions, filled and emptied it 17 times and I’m sure it will do.
Either way, if not, I’ll let you know!
